Booking and payment

Submitting the inquiry form on this site is a request, not a confirmed booking. A trip is only confirmed once we have spoken with you, verified guide availability, and received your deposit. Your deposit holds your date. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your trip. Prices listed on this site are current at the time of posting and are subject to change. The price quoted to you at the time of booking is the price you pay.

Cancellations and rescheduling

Trips canceled or rescheduled 30 days or more before your date receive a full refund minus a $50 administration fee. Cancellations inside 30 days forfeit the deposit. If we cancel your trip because conditions are unsafe, you receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no charge.

Weather and river conditions

We fish in rain, wind, cold, and heat. Weather alone is not grounds for cancellation or refund. We cancel only when conditions make the day genuinely unsafe, and that call belongs to your guide and to us. Runoff, flow changes, fire restrictions, hoot owl closures, and other conditions outside our control may require us to move your trip to different water. We will tell you as early as we can.

Licenses and regulations

Every angler 12 and older is responsible for holding a valid Montana fishing license, conservation license, and AIS Prevention Pass before the trip. These are not included in your trip price. You are responsible for following all Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks regulations while on the water with us.

Safety, liability, and assumption of risk

Fly fishing from a drift boat involves real risk, including moving water, cold water, weather, wading, hooks, and remote access. You participate voluntarily and assume those risks. All guests will be asked to sign a liability waiver before launching. You agree to follow your guide's instructions regarding safety at all times. We may end a trip without refund if a guest is intoxicated, unsafe, or abusive toward a guide or another guest.

Alcohol and conduct

Responsible alcohol consumption on the water is permitted where legal. Guests who are visibly impaired to the point of being a safety risk will not be launched, and no refund is given.

Photography

We often photograph trips. Unless you tell us otherwise, you grant Headwaters Outfitting Company permission to use photographs taken during your trip for marketing purposes. Tell your guide if you would prefer not to appear in any photos and we will respect it.

This website

The content, photography, and branding on this site belong to Headwaters Outfitting Company and may not be reproduced without permission. We work to keep river descriptions, seasons, and pricing accurate, but conditions and rates change and we do not guarantee that every detail is current at the moment you read it.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics and Google Search Console to understand how visitors find and use the site. These tools collect standard usage data such as pages visited, approximate location, device type, and referring source. We do not sell your information. Information you submit through the inquiry form is used solely to respond to your inquiry and plan your trip.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana.
